The Louisa County Community Fund is pleased to announce its 2026 grant funding decisions, totaling $93,000 and supporting 26 area nonprofits.
Administered by the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, this grant cycle is supported by a committee of Louisa County residents who understand the needs of their community, the nonprofit sector in the county, and the grantmaking process.
LCCF supported a wide range of initiatives this cycle, including free healthcare services and resources for residents, local environmental education for students, and mental health & wellness support. See below for a full list of Spring 2026 grant recipients.
In 1997, Ruby and Albert Bazzanella, long-time residents of Louisa County, established a fund at the Community Foundation to benefit Louisa County. In 2007, the Community Foundation received a bequest from Mr. and Mrs. Bazzanella with the stipulation that the income be directed in perpetuity to benefit Louisa County. Since then, the Louisa County Community Fund has awarded nearly 1.4M to organizations impacting lives in Louisa County through its annual grant cycle.
“Every year we are moved by the important work that these organizations are doing to improve lives in Louisa County,” says Megan Donovan, the Community Foundation’s Program Manager. “We are grateful to be able to play a role in continuing to support these organizations.”
