The goal of the Movement Building Continuum is to encourage groups to reflect on the role of their work in our region. Each of the three categories are significant in different ways, and allow us to address inequities through differing approaches:

- Proactive interventions seek to remove barriers and injustices imposed on communities by harmful systems.
- Transformative interventions address systems-level change while imagining alternate possibilities.

When reviewing Solidarity proposals, preference is given to applicants whose work is Proactive or Transformative. To be considered eligible for a Reshaping Futures Grant, an applicant’s work must be Proactive or preferably Transformative.
