Virginia 311

Virginia 311 provides residents with a single point of contact for non-emergency city services and information. If you are experiencing a non-emergency and would like to reach city services, dial 311 to be connected right away.


Charlottesville Supplemental Rental Assistance Program (CSRAP)

Administered by the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (CRHA), CSRAP provides monthly rental assistance to low- and very low-income households. Eligibility is based on HUD income limits, family size, and citizenship status. Applicants must seek housing within city limits. Albemarle County Emergency Relief Program (ACERP)

ACERP offers one-time financial assistance for rent, utilities, and reconnection fees to eligible Albemarle County residents facing emergencies. Eligibility includes households with medically vulnerable members, children under 6, or those involved with county child welfare programs. Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) – Albemarle County

The HCV program assists low-income families in renting private market apartments by subsidizing a portion of the rent. Participants typically pay about 30% of their adjusted income toward rent, with the remainder covered by the program. Eligibility is based on income limits and other criteria. Community Resource Hotline (Pathways)

This hotline provides emergency financial assistance for past-due rent, mortgage, and utility bills to eligible Charlottesville households. Operated in partnership with the United Way of Greater Charlottesville, it also offers referrals to other resources. Call 1-833-524-2904, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Alliance for Interfaith Ministries (AIM)

AIM offers temporary emergency assistance to families threatened with homelessness or utility disconnection. To qualify, applicants must be Albemarle County residents facing a one-time emergency and provide documentation of the crisis. Contact AIM at (434) 972-1704 for more information. The Haven

The Haven provides housing support through programs like Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing. They assist individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in securing stable housing. Piedmont Housing Alliance
